"I don't usually take
the time to write thank
you letters, but, in
this case, I feel
it appropriate.
Recently, my dog Bailey,
unbeknownst to us, had
eaten and swallowed
Rudolph's red nose and
other assorted parts
from a dog toy. On a
second trip to Skycrest, Doctor
Hendrix gently persuaded
us that, looking at the
x-ray, something was
wrong, and that
exploratory surgery was
recommended, and the
sooner the better. This
decision probably saved
Bailey's life. I was
contemplating taking him
to VSC for an ultrasound
to be for sure, but
something in Dr. Hendrix
suggestion led me to
take heed. It turned
out that the surgery was
serious, and Doctor
Hendrix had a difficult
time removing the nose
and other pieces from
Bailey's intestine and
stomach. And the
intestines were already
turning blue, not a good
sign. Well, Bailey
pulled through, and the
story could happily end
here. Except that the
surgery was Friday
afternoon, and the best
that was offered was
that a doctor would come
in and check
periodically on Bailey
throughout the weekend.
This made us very
nervous, because Bailey
was not in the
best shape after the
surgery. But, Doctor
Wojcik, who to me is an
angel, decided to take
Bailey home with her
during the weekend, and
take care of him. She
even kept in constant
communication with us as
to Bailey's condition.
I still get tears in my
eyes every time I think
about this. That these
days there are still
special people out there
who really care and go
the extra mile, makes
this an especially happy
ending. Whenever I tell
the story about Bailey
swallowing Rudolph's red
nose, and I tell it
often, I always tell
them about the cool
veterinarians we have,
and what they did for
us.
Thank You So Much, Gary
-
PS To add a funny
ending to the story, we
liked the toy Bailey ate
so much (he had already
destroyed the toy but we
were unaware that the
nose was inside him), so
we ordered two more new
ones on the internet."

"After the vet I had
gone to for 30 years
retired, I was in a
dilemma about where am I
going to find another
veterinarian that I can
trust. I did my
research on Google "How
to find a good vet?"
They said you shop for
one, visit the place,
see if you and your dog
have a report with the
doctor, etc. So I
set out to do my
research. I called
quite a few animal
hospitals and the first
thing they wanted to do
is have my files
transferred over.
I told them you don't
understand "I was
shopping for a
veterinarian." My
little guy has had a lot
of health problems and I
wasn't going to take him
in to someone I didn't
have confidence in.
My neighbor who works
with dog trainers
referred me to Skycrest.
Then I found out that
they were listed as one
of the 10 best in
Chicago Magazine.
I went in to check them
out and met with Dr.
Wojcik and loved her
right away. Her
heart is as big as her
dog! I have been
going there about three
years now and can't say
enough about the caring
compassionate Doctors
and staff. When
you go there it feels
like a home and family
-- not a place of
business. I would
tell anyone to take
their beloved pet to
these caring people.
Bless you for taking
care of God's
creatures." ~ Sally

“My cat Muffy is
19.5 years YOUNG! She
was diagnosed with renal
failure about 6 years
ago. We were going to a
different vet clinic at
the time but then moved
to Hawthorn Woods and
began coming to Skycrest.
Dr. Wojick has been
Muffy's primary doctor
and we see Dr. Locke as
well! Words can't begin
to describe the amazing
level of care and
compassion that Muffy
has received from
everyone at Skycrest!
From the first day we
came to see Dr. Wojick,
she treated Muffy like
she was her own pet! Dr.
Wojick & Dr. Locke
always take the time to
talk softly to her on
the exam table and make
her feel comfortable. I
am happy to report
Muffy's levels have
remained consistent and
have not declined and I
feel that this is due to
the great level of care
that she has received
from everyone at
Skycrest as far as diet
changes etc., it's truly
a team effort in keeping
a healthy happy pet! I
really liked the fact
that Jill took the time
to suggest going to
Pages Healthy Paws for
grain free foods when
Muffy ran out of options
for medical food that
she would eat. Everyone
is always so friendly
and cheerful, taking us
to the exam room with a
smile and are always so
happy to answer any
questions, I couldn't be
happier! I would highly
suggest Skycrest to
anyone that asks!”

"Without Skycrest,
Barb and the Shachters,
I would not have the 2
great dogs I have. I
can't imagine my life
without Jasmine &
Murphy. I believe they
were going to be put
down on the Monday after
Thanksgiving, 3 years
ago. Barb set up an
appointment to come to
my house with the
Shachters, Jasmine and
Murphy, they have never
left - I wanted 2 Labs
that needed a home and I
got them. I continued
bringing them to
Skycrest & Dr. Locke
because I didn't want to
upset them again. I have
been very happy with the
patience they show
Jasmine because of her
fear of "tile floors".
Perhaps it's because you
have so many caring
woman there." ~

“We have been
bringing our cats to
Skycrest Animal Hospital
since the days when Dr.
Radner was primary
doctor and owner. All
the doctors and staff
over the years at
Skycrest have shown
excellent knowledge in
veterinary medicine and
also, very loving and
caring treatment when we
bring our cats in for
their annual check-ups
or if they are sick.
When the time has come
we have had to say
goodbye to our loved one
the doctors and staff
have been very
compassionate and
respectful of our pet
and treat us all like we
are family. We really
like the new website,
reminders and up to date
information they provide
on care and guidance for
our loving four legged
family member. We are
very satisfied with the
overall whole treatment
medically and
emotionally for the
patients and family
members and have
tremendous confidence in
the skilled doctors and
staff at Skycrest Animal
Hospital”. ~ Ron and

“Being a dog owner
for most of my life, and
having extremely high
standards about the type
of care that my dog
deserves has inspired me
to share our SKYCREST
experience with you. If
my dog Oakley had his
own iPad, I am sure that
he would be typing his
own review right now and
I am confident that we
would be in total
agreement on our rating
of SKYCREST as
exceptional! From day
one, we were welcomed to
SKYCREST in a warm and
personal way by everyone
on staff. I have always
felt that the team is
amazingly professional,
caring and passionate
about their work. All
of the Vets,
Technicians,
Receptionists and Diane,
our groomer, seem to
make an extra effort to
build a relationship
with our pet as well as
our whole family. I
believe that this unique
rapport is one factor
that clearly sets them
apart from your typical
animal hospital.
Fortunately, our dog
has been very healthy
except for one episode
that was intense.
Several of the staff
members worked together
to diagnose, treat and
nurse our dog back to
perfect health. The
best part of the
experience was getting a
personal call from Dr.
Wojcik following up the
next day to make sure
our precious dog was on
the road to recovery!
You take service for
granted when your pet is
well and don't
appreciate it until
you're in a situation
where you really need a
competent caring vet to
come through. I
guarantee that when that
situation arises, they
will be there for you in
the most compassionate
way imaginable. Thank
you SKYCREST for raising
the bar higher then I
ever expected and for
being so invested in our
pets, families and in
the Long Grove
community!” ~ Kim Kuhn

“I have been going to
Skycrest since 1971,
well not me, but my
collie Rusty and now all
my cats. My daughter
who lives in Chicago
brings her 3 cats to
Skycrest. My other
daughter brings her dog
to Skycrest. We are a
Skycrest family. All
through the years we
promoted Skycrest to our
friends and they
switched to Skycrest.
The reason is their
excellent and
professional care along
with their kindness and
enthusiasm. They know
how much we love our
animals and each doctor
and their assistants AND
the staff treat our
precious animals with so
much respect. They
even talk to them as we
would talk to our
animals as if they are
humans. They understand
that our animals are
part of our family. My
cats, Monti and Yokie
are so lucky to have
such excellent care at
Skycrest Animal Clinic
and I feel so safe
knowing my cats are in
good hands, gentle and
caring hands.” ~ Susan
