Two Special Needs Dogs Arriving From Lebanon

"Isabella" and "Jacob"

Pam Kramer is the columnist for Pet of the Week with the Pioneer Press.  This adoption request comes from a friend of the owner and founder of a shelter in Lebanon called Animals Lebanon, www.animalslebanon.org.  They need to find homes for two special needs dogs.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Pam at pamelaokramer@gmail.com or the shelter owner’s friend who is helping to find a home for Isabella and Jacob at hamilton.susan@yahoo.com.  Both dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and neutered, and have had their blood tests for rabies done in a European lab.  The adoption fee is only $40.

Isabella, a two year-old mix labrador, was found when she was six months old.  Isabella is now two years old, and according to vets here in Lebanon she has something called nephrotic syndrome or renal failure.  She is being treated and is as healthy as possible, however, she needs to be on meds for life according to vet here.  Isabella is taking a pill every other day.  I know that people in your community are much more compassionate, caring, and able to help such cases.  Also, vets in the US and Europe are much more advanced than in Lebanon and they might have an easy solution for her case.  She is a sweetheart and she is toilet trained.  Isabella is currently being fostered and shows no sign of any disease.

Meet Jacob

Jacob was born semi-blind and sees shadows.  His history is very sad -- he was chained for two years to a tree under horrible conditions.  He is now four years old, and very gentle with people and other animals.
