MEET OUR DOCTORS

Fred Rader, DVM
Dr. Rader is affectionately known by clients
and staff as "Doc". Everyone looks to Doc for his guidance and
expertise based on his many years of experience. Doc
graduated from Ohio State Veterinary School in 1962. He
practiced in Lafayette, Indiana from 1962 until 1967 working with some small
animals but concentrating on farm animals.

Doc moved
to Long Grove in October of 1967 and founded Skycrest Animal
Clinic. For the first five years, while building the practice,
he also worked as a relief Veterinarian in the Chicago area.
Doc raised shelties and golden retrievers while his four children
were growing up.
He has since become well known far and wide
for his expertise with Dobermans. After
practicing for 48 years, Dr. Rader is enjoying his reduced schedule,
allowing for more time to spend with his wife, Nancy and their dog, "Indy".

Kristin Wojcik, DVM
Dr. Wojcik is a 1995 graduate of Ross University and the
University of Minnesota. She has been with Skycrest since 1999 and became
the owner of the clinic in 2001. Dr. Wojcik fulfilled her childhood dream
when she became a veterinarian. Her passion for her profession is evident
by the way she nurtures her sweet patients as well as their families. You
might run into Dr. Wojcik as she hikes the trails near Long Grove with her
mother and friends. Dr. Wojcik and her husband, Don, share their home with
their 2 sons, Owen and Miles, their daughter Kate, and their dogs "Travis", "Chelby"
and "Hurley".

Stephanie Locke, DVM
Following in her father's footsteps, who is also a
veterinarian, Dr. Locke graduated with honors from the University
of Illinois. Dr. Locke currently
lives in Arlington Heights with her husband, Mike, and baby boy, Evan, their German Shepherd, "Silus",
certified Therapy Golden Retrievers, "Valen" and "Macallan", and Labrador
Retriever,
"Beam". Her favorite pastimes include walking all the dogs and
spending quality time with friends and family. Although Dr. Locke enjoys
being a veterinarian for many reasons, she particularly enjoys being part of the
human-animal bond, a bond to her that is unique and irreplaceable.

Susan I. Wilner, DVM
Dr. Wilner is a 1990 graduate of the
University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and has been in
practice since that time in the Chicago area. Dr. Wilner
is actively involved in the Girl Scouts and Buffalo Grove's Safety
Town where she teaches children how to care for their pets with the help of her beautiful
blond Golden Retriever, "Ti", and her 3-legged black & white kitty, "Koka". She is also an
avid cyclist and is often seen riding on the
quiet roads of Long Grove or you may see her walking for miles and miles
everyday with "Ti" trotting along beside her. In addition, she is a Girl
Scout Leader and finds it very gratifying to mentor students who are interested
in veterinary medicine. Dr. Wilner keeps busy outside the office
running her children, Mike and Monica, to sports practice, dance and gymnastics,
and sharing their lives with her husband, Corey.

Krista Shears, DVM
Dr. Shears graduated with honors from the University of
Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2004. She worked for one year in
